Nyanya General Hospital was established about thirty-five (35) years ago (1991-2026) as a Primary Health Clinic (PHC). It later evolved overtime to a Secondary Health Care Facility with emphasis on Maternal and Child Care. It subsequently expanded services to family medicine, accident and emergencies, Radiology, medical rehabilitation, Optometry and Dentistry.
In 2008 the FCTA Health & Human Services Secretariat moved a step further by designating Nyanya General Hospital as one of the pilot Hospitals for the provision of Free Antenatal Care (FANC) and delivery Services including Caesarean Section. This development has led to a tremendous increase in the number of patients seeking Healthcare delivery in the hospital.
The Hospital also provides PMTCT Services and has been upgraded to a Comprehensive site for the care of HIV/Aids patients and Tuberculosis.
The facility is also accredited to run full scale National Health Insurance Authority, FCT Health Insurance Scheme and other related services

Nyanya General Hospital which is located along Area 8, Nyanya, Ado 900101, Federal Capital Territory; it renders services to virtually all communities around its environs like Karu , jikwoyi, kurudu, Kpegyi, Gbagalape e.t.c in FCT and other neighbouring states, including mararaba , masaka down to keffi and other villages in Karu L.G of Nassarawa state.
Patients from the neighbouring states of Niger, Kaduna, Kogi and even Enugu also access health care Services in the Hospital
