Kwali

Kwali General Hospital is a 36-bedded general hospital. It was constructed during the Rtd. Lt. General J-T. Useni’s administration as then Federal Capital Territory Minister. It started operations on the 1st of September 2003, and was officially commissioned to full fledged General Hospital by the former FCT Minister, Mallam Nasir Ahmed EL-Rafai on the 4th April 2005.

The hospital also boast of state of the art tuberculosis diagnostic machine (Gene Expert). This has the ability to make diagnosis of tuberculosis using genetic components in the patient’s sputum and also detect cases of rifampicin resistance.

The hospital serves Kwali Town, Yangoji, Dabi, Bako, Kwaita, Gadabiu, Ashara, Pai, Lambata, Big Sheda and Small Sheda, Gwagwalada and Kuje.

Kwali General Hospital provides secondary healthcare services in areas of Obstetric and Gynaecology, general surgery, ultrasound, ECG, and general medical and paediatrics consultation services. Other service include 24 hours automated laboratory services, family planning and immunization.

Location:

The hospital is located along Gwagwalada-Abuja road on the outskirt of Kwali Town. Other structure within the vicinity of the hospital includes Kwali Area Council Secretariat, Local Education Authority (LEA) Office, and the High Court of Justice Kwali. The hospital has a landmass of about 1,600 sq meters.
